Cabaret, Théâtre Marigny Paris

This great Broadway classic, which has played to packed houses in all the great cities of the world, delighted 350,000 people the last time it played in Paris. Entirely performed in French and produced by the talented Sam Mendes and Rob Marshall, this contemporary version of Cabaret will be performing throughout France for the very first time, in a grand tour starting in January.

It has won many awards around the world and nominated seven times for the Molières (French theatre awards), the play tells the story of Cliff Bradshaw, a young American writer who falls in love with a cabaret singer when in Berlin to find inspiration. Along with these two protagonists, a whole series of characters both cynical and touching see their freedom threatened by the Nazis arrival in the city.

The 1930’s are the backdrop of this story full of colours and movement which approaches with intelligence and originality the delicate political context of the era.
