Skating and acrobatics at the Hôtel de Ville of Paris – Hôtel du Nord et de l’Est

From 16 December 2011 to 4 March 2012 skating enthusiasts – whether they are beginners or experts – can enjoy the huge skating rink set up on the forecourt of the Hôtel de Ville of Paris. This temporary installation, open every day, promises lots of skating fun… and laughter!

The quintessential winter sport, ice skating is very popular in the capital where several rinks have been set up since the beginning of December. Of all the skating rinks available to Parisians and tourists, the rink at the Hotel de Ville is certainly the most popular and the best for families.

With 2 rinks, one of which is exclusively reserved for children under 6, it is a delight to experienced skaters and raw beginners alike. The total skating area covers 1635m²: this vast rink allows for demonstrations to be organised, presenting in turn, ice hockey, curling and even dancing on ice.

The qualified instructors will also be on-hand to give beginners’ classes. And on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 am to 12 noon, classes will be run for those wanting to improve their skating skills.
